Dr. Julie Muller holds a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences (orientation Toxicology, Genetic and Immunology), in the Unit of Industrial Toxicology and Occupational Health directed by Professor D. Lison at the Catholic University of Brussels, Belgium. The Ph.D. thesis focused on the experimental study of the respiratory toxic potential of multi-wall carbon nanotubes.
Julie spent spent 3 years at Solvay SA as the toxicologist managing the REACH registration dossiers and also a corporate project focused on the follow up of HSE (Health Safety and Environment) topics related to nanomaterials. This included standardization/regulation and communication issues.
Julie then joined Nanocyl SA as HSE manager. Within Nanocyl, she managed the responsible care product stewardship program, which included regulatory affairs, internal and external HSE communication, risk-based analysis and risk assessment for products produced and used by the company including multi-wall carbon nanotubes.
In April 2017, Julie joined Penman Consulting as Senior Toxicologist. She now manages the toxicology team at Penman Consulting and is based in the Brussels office.
