Calum joined Penman Consulting in 2021 as a Toxicologist, with three years industry experience working in the non-clinical toxicity testing of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and chemicals.
He began his career in Toxicology as an Associate Toxicologist at Sequani Limited, a non-clinical contract research organisation. As an Associate Toxicologist, Calum gained experience working in non-clinical general toxicity and reproductive and developmental toxicity studies and gained an understanding of Good Laboratory Practice, OECD and ICH guideline requirements. He then worked as a Study Director at Sequani Limited for seven months before relocating to Vivotecnia, a non-clinical CRO in Spain, where he continued his development in this role for seven months.
Before beginning his career in Toxicology, Calum had achieved a First Class BSc (Hons) in Biology with a Minor in American Studies at Keele University, UK, followed by a MSc in Toxicology at the University of Birmingham, UK, for which he was awarded a Distinction.
